SEO for Job Seekers pt. A

SEO for Job Seekers
Job seekers I have some news for you that if you didn’t believe it before you really need to believe it now!

Employers will look up your name on search engines to see what comes up.

They look for several reasons, but a few of these are:
1. They want to see how “plugged in” to technology you are. The more technical the job the more they expect to see when your name comes up
2. What outside activities are you in
3. Are you published anywhere or said or written anything that someone thought important enough to post for you
4. Are there other people with your name
5. Are you mentioned in anything involving activities that are not condoned at the company you are going to

This may not seem like much, however here is a practical example of why you WANT search engines to find you. My brother does not have a common name, however if you look up his name in a search engine, the fist many items talk about someone with my brother’s name being a football coach with several articles about that football team. If my brother ever has to do a job search people might think and ask if he is the football coach they found online. He has to publish several things to make sure he shows up on the first page of results.

What are you doing for the search engines to find you?
Look for my  help for you in another article.
