Recently I visited a laundry room owner who was complaining about chronic problems with his dryers not heating consistently. I opened up the lint trays and found all of this!
I asked:
1. how often his staff cleaned the lint drawers
2. did they ever clean the lint trap area underneath the drawers
3. when was the last time they took off the front panels and cleaned around the panels and drum
His answers were:
1. weekly
2. never
3. and never
I can't emphasize enough that clean dryers:
- improve airflow making the clothes dry faster resulting in happier users
- saves you gas or electric costs
- helps wear down parts less
- keeps a potential fire hazard down
- and makes your equipment last longer
