F37 Errors What & How to Fix

For those that have purchased Maytag MHN33 washers in the past few years, you may have noticed a F37 error code that pops up on your screen. This error isn't listed in the programming manual or the troubleshooting manual you receive for the machine.
What is a F37 error code and how do you fix it?

HOW DO YOU FIX IT

The long term fix for this error code is a software update that should have been installed at the factory or by your distributor before installing. Some machines may not have any errors pop up from months or years and in that case you need to have a service tech come and update the software on your machine(s).

In the short term you can try clearing the error by either:
1. going into the service menu and trying the P-1 setting and clearing the error

2. go into P-1 to clear the error and then unplug the washer for at least five minutes before plugging machine back in

WHAT DOES F37 MEAN?

According to service techs I have spoken with here is what F37 means depending on the machine you have:

37
SPEED ERROR, MOTOR RUNNING TOO FAST,COULD BE OPTIC SENSOR AT FAULT
or

PRESSURE SWITCH OUT OF RANGE
According to a Maytag Service bulletin from July 2021 here is some more information on what the service tech should do to clear the code from happening again:

TOPIC
Maytag has released new software that addresses some machine performance issues, while also adding some
enhancements that will improve the overall machine performance.
Some of the benefits include:
•Stuck button error removal (washer) + extending the time before triggering error from 10 to 20 secs (dryer)
•New F27 + F21 error behavior to improve suds detection and removal before triggering an error (washer)
•New F37 + F38 error codes that specifically indicate if the pressure switch is out of range (washer)
•Auto clearing error codes F21, F27, F37, F38 after problem conditions are no longer present
•And several additional changes

ACTION REQUIRED
In order to benefit from the new software, each machine must be updated following the instructions provided in this field service bulletin
