F70 Error Quick Fix

In my time I've often come across the 

F70 error on MHN30 and MHN33 washers. 

When this error pops up and you don't have the parts to correct it right away, or be fortunate enough to have a service technician arriving soon to fix it, 

what can you do to get the washer up and 

running until further repairs can be made?

Here is a quick method to try to see if you can get the washer running in the short term:

 

 

F70 is an error that the User Interface (UI) display is not communicating with the washer/dryer Computer Control Unit (CCU).

•  Open up the top of the washer by removing the panel around the front display and remove the screws that hold the top on. 
  
• Unplug the washer.
• Locate the CCU on the right side top right hand corner.
• There are lots of plugs going into the CCU. 
• Make sure all of the plugs are tightly plugged in.
• In my experience I have found that the plugs with the pink wires are loose for some reason. 
• Take a popsicle stick and break it in half.
• Stack the halves together and put them between the two plugs that are loose.
• I've also used a pen cap between the plugs instead of sticks.
• Plug power back in.
• F70 might pop back initially.
• Clear the error.

Usually that takes care of it and the washer works as normal.

I don't know if the plugs work their way loose over time, or something gets jumbled in the CCU, or if a plug breaks inside the CCU or gets bent, or a short somewhere. Whatever is the reason, I've "fixed" many washers with this method. It isn't a permanent fix!

This is just a method to get your washer up and running in the short term so you can use the machine until the tech gets there. It is not a permanent fix.
